The time has come to say goodbye to 2017. It has been a wild yet fun-filled ride. Words aren’t enough how thankful I was with my journey in 2017. There has been so many downs and too little ups this year, yet here I am, thankful and blessed to have those experiences came into my life. 🙂
We used to have this attitude of making a “to-do-list” every start of a year (I think majority can relate on this. haha!). Sadly, my own version of “to-do-list” this year turns out to be a bit disappointing and frustrating for the reason that I was being skeptical to take risks on every decisions that I made which ends up of failing to meet the things that is/are included on my list. Well, at least, I’ve done my job and gave my best shots on it. What makes me amazed and glad was that, despite of all the things that I failed to meet up or achieved, I always end up being grateful and fortunate on the things that I accomplished.
2017 teaches me a lot of eye-opening realization. I learn to let go of the things that makes me hinder to grow. Also, I was able to be the type of person that listens more rather than being an opinionated and outspoken one. For me, the greatest achievement that I’ve learn was to know more about myself and unlock the attitude of “minding your own business”. It felt so good and relieving on my side the fact that I seldom involved myself in any issues on workplace, social matters, etc. Also, with the attitude of “minding your own business”, I can freely do things without being threaten, intimidated and conscientious especially in building and prospering my own empire. Before, I felt pity on myself on the achievement of others. Yung tipong kinukwesyon mo yung sarili mo on the things that you’ve done. Actually, I have a lot of frustrations in life, but I am thankful for this year because I learn to deal with the spices and unexpected turn of events and take it as an advantage on my part. Anyways, let me summarize my highlight sojourns in 2017.
1. I got hired on a prestigious government hospital
2017 was one of my luckiest year I had. I got hired from a government hospital (Davao Regional Medical Center) after waiting for almost a year. *Yaas! What makes it more fortunate was that, I got a regular item immediately. Imagine that! 🙂
2. Hello Mount Apo!
I was able to step foot on the highest mountain here in the Philippines. It has been my long-time-bucket-list before I enter the world of mountaineering. During the times that I was reviewing for my board exam, I always tell myself to climb this mountain and tell the world that I passed the Medical Technologist Licensure Exam. Sadly, it didn’t happen the way I was expecting it. haha! But here’s the twist, I was able to complete the tough/TOP five highest mountains in the Philippines ending with Mount Apo as the last one. *Woot woot!
3. Hello, Financial Literacy!
This year, I was able to connect and being entice in the world of entrepreneurship and financial literacy. Thanks to Robert Kiyosaki’s “Rich Dad, Poor Dad” book. Now, I am more determine to start 2018 on applying and implementing what I grasp about financial literacy. Help me pray for this another journey. 🙂
4. Hello, El Nido, Palawan
This year was my first time to have a birthday getaway. Guess what, I celebrated my birthday on the very beautiful and one of my bucket list – El Nido, Palawan. This is one of the most unforgettable birthdays that I had in my life. I was able to witness the most beautiful and majestic island in the world as rated by some international journal and travel magazines. 🙂
5. Christmas getaway!
We had our Christmas celebration on Seagull Mountain Resort at Buda, Bukinon Province. It was my first Christmas with them after 4 years of working as a Medical Technologist. I usually spend my Christmas for the past 4 years on hospital. I don’t know if it was a curse for not letting me celebrate Christmas with my family or what. haha! Check out my separate entry on this! 🙂
6. Spend my New Year’s Eve with my laptop and coffee. 🙂
Lastly, here I am spending my New Year’s Eve at coffee shop. It’s my first time to have this kind of “ME” moment. I enjoyed being with my laptop, surfing the net and reading entries and article about year end blogs. What an introvert attitude! hahaha!
For me, 2017 was a productive and fruitful year. I pray that He will bless me throughout the rest of 2018. I know His plans are better than us and I’m looking forward on it! I pray that God will use me as an instrument of His grace and mercy. Hope that I can use my advantages on helping others. I pray to start take things day by day; to not stress myself out but to remember instead to breathe. I also pray to seriously learn and put God at the center of my life, making Him as the captain of my life.
I wish the best of your life and filled with happiness, love, fun and God-centered 2018. Happy New Year everyone! Thanks for reading. 🙂
